This position is within Reynolds American Services Company—a subsidiary that provides support services, including compliance, HR, law, finance, information management, and more to all of the subsidiaries of RAI.
Senior Staff Scientist – Toxicologist supports enterprise-wide regulatory strategies and advocacy efforts, particularly as they relate to product clearance. Through strong leadership and technical expertise, this position supports Scientific & Regulatory Affairs by assisting, developing, and/or leading projects and programs aligned with scientific strategies for current and future market products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Apply toxicological principles to address complex regulatory requirements for product submissions
Maintain high level of toxicological expertise by identifying and critically assessing emerging theories and methodologies and applying gained expertise to meet research objectives that align with strategic objectives
Support the development of tactical plans, which support research strategies and advocacy efforts
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across a broad set of disciplines and contexts
Support and/or develop toxicological research efforts that support regulatory submissions for products
Degree in Toxicology or related field required. Graduate degree preferred. DABT preferred
3 years of experience or 5 years of progressive relative experience
Basic understanding of human health risk assessment concepts and methods
Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation
Understanding of the tobacco category and relevant industry experience
Experience with in silico toxicology techniques, e.g., QSAR, PBPK, and/or BBDR modeling
