ABOUT THE POSITION
This position is with Reynolds American Services Company — a subsidiary that provides support services, including compliance, HR, law, finance, information technology, compliance, and more to all of the subsidiaries of RAI.
The Information & Digital Technology function is offering an internship opportunity to assist the function in delivering creative and innovative technology solutions to achieve maximum business benefit across every facet of RAI and its operating companies. Summer interns will have Winston-Salem based assignments.
You will exercise initiative, creative problem solving skills, teamwork and leadership as you interact with other personnel throughout our winning organization. In addition, you will have fun while adding value and encountering outstanding career development support.
REWARDING PROJECT ASSIGNMENTS
Interns are provided with challenging project assignments with opportunity for significant exposure to other company functions outside of IDT. For example, previous Information & Digital Technology Interns have:
Engaged with key stakeholders in the Information & Digital Technology function to understand our cloud based environment from both a technical & functional perspective and developed a long term management action plan that significantly reduces the associated costs;
Created a centralized code repository for 3rd party web development to be managed internally by RAI thus mitigating the risk associated with the disjointed methods imposed by the individual interactive agencies with whom our Consumer Marketing and Demand Finance Teams work;
Researched, analyzed and recommended processes for both the Information Management and Research & Development teams to maintain the technical environment and relevant documentation for R&D instrumentation and labs.
TO SUCEED AS AN INFORMATION & DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY INTERN IN 2020 YOU SHOULD BE:
A student who has completed core coursework toward an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a focus in Information Systems & Technology, Computer Science or a related field;
Proficient with MS Office desktop;
Passionate about Information Technology;
A dynamic and innovative leader;
AND SOMEONE WHO:
Has superior verbal and written communication skills;
Possesses a high sense of urgency and a strong work ethic;
Displays excellent interpersonal skills;
Is willing to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC for the summer.
