ABOUT THE POSITION:

This role is highly visible and is an integral part of the Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (S&RA) team with tremendous learning opportunities. The intern in this position will perform research centered on the establishment of analytical techniques to better understand how use of vapor products change over time, including the development of novel statistical tools to evaluate complex datasets.

You will be assigned a challenging project with a focus on statistical analysis of complex data sets, data mining, and data modeling, as you interact with other personnel throughout our winning organization. In addition, you will have fun while adding value and encountering outstanding career development support!

The summer internship will span across 10 weeks and conclude by mid-August. You will work at our Corporate Headquarters located in Winston-Salem, NC

TO SUCCEED AS AN S&RA INTERN IN 2020, YOU SHOULD BE:

  • A student who has completed core coursework and research towards a doctorate degree in behavioral neuroscience, psychology, or other related fields

  • Proficient with MS Office desktop, including advanced Excel skills

  • A broad understanding of behavioral data acquisition techniques, statistical analysis, and scientific report development

  • Experience with R or related software

  • Proficient with SAS, SPSS, or other statistical software

  • Ability to rapidly develop proficiency and expertise working with novel software technologies

  • Is willing to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC for the summer

BY THE END OF YOUR INTERNSHIP, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Spent time with C-Suite leadership during a series of leadership roundtable events

  • Gained insight into what it’s like to work for a global organization, and learned more regarding our global development opportunities and career pathways

  • Collaborated directly with experienced S&RA professionals on a challenging and meaningful project

  • Presented your findings and recommendations to the S&RA Function, including the Leadership Team and key personnel
