Director– Consumer Marketing – VELOPortfolio Strategy
As theDirector of Portfolio Strategyin the Consumer Marketing function you will be joining a team of exceptional marketers in a World Class Marketing Organization. As a marketing led organization we manage some of the largest and most iconic brands in the Consumer Product Goods category. This is a fast paced and collaborative environment with a heavy emphasis on marketing excellence and talent development.
Your overarching responsibilities include:
Understanding the consumer, the category, and the brands’ high level strategies
Leverage this knowledge to develop portfolio, pricing, and promotional plans ensuring short and long term commercial impact
Significant collaboration with cross departmental stakeholders to deliver, analyze, and refine plans
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and passionate individual to join our marketing team and be a part of an exciting opportunity to change the tobacco landscape and reimagine a new world of nicotine enjoyment for Adult Tobacco Consumers (ATC). Backed with experience, dedication, and best in class industry resources, you will oversee strategic portfolio management and deployment of pricing and promotion investments for RJRVCs modern oral brand – VELO.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners in the development of pricing strategies, geographical segmentation and sales planning that are optimized and deployed to deliver net sales and margin targets without degrading brand equity. Strategies will consider traditional discounting pricing levers and newer digital tools to ensure value is delivered efficiently to the consumer. Additional accountabilities include responsibility for managing product portfolio strategies, influencing retail contract enhancements, and promotional strategies.
Director – Consumer Marketing – VELO Portfolio Strategy:
Serve as the ongoing strategic resource for pricing and promotional decision making across all modern oral products (pouches, lozenges, etc.).
Lead the development and optimization of the branded pricing line items.
Lead the VELO portfolio strategy across formats and channels
Ensure pricing objectives are met to meet corporate goals including volume, NTO, gross margin, and share.
Collaborate across brand teams and commercial functions to drive alignment in deployment of pricing levers and ensure no adverse effects.
Innovate new levers and design new capabilities to deliver pricing to the consumer for maximum efficiency & effective spend.
Participate as a key stakeholder in Strategy and Operational Plan development to drive attainment of brand goals.
Proactively recommend improvements to brand pricing strategies and product offerings through development of key insights.
Lead cross functional teams to deliver against Brand goals.
Contribute to overall brand and consumer strategy.
Serve as a brand steward amongst cross functional teams.
Gain support for new ideas, strategy shifts and lead change throughout the organization when appropriate.

Digital marketing fluency (analytics, PPC, SEO/SEM) and functional understanding of digital marketing touch points (mobile, web, email, social media) a strong plus
Analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end consumer experience across multiple channels and touch points
Strong written and verbal presentation skills
Ability to plan, execute and report out on initiatives
Product and packaging strategy, ideation and execution
Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to influence at senior levels within the organization
Proactively address needs and work with colleagues at various levels of experience, across departments, and with agency representative
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND BENEFITS
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
8+ years marketing experience
Demonstrated track record of successful, innovative problem solving and leadership that resulted in market share gains and/or business improvement
Demonstrated pricing expertise in highly regulated or other relevant category
Proven ability to successfully drive P&L objectives across a very large scope of business
Demonstrated experience in motivating people, strong communication/interpersonal skills, thinking/operating strategically, sound decision-making, and an appreciation of functions other than Marketing
