The Data Architect role is a highly visible position that is an integral part of the IT team with tremendous career growth opportunities. This position provides an opportunity for technology leadership and support to cross-functional client areas and the IT leadership team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a technical lead in the project team member delivering high quality results for assigned tasks. Creates guardrails and data solution architecture for the analytics solution and guide project manager in technical details with with the development of work plans, effort estimates and delivery timelines for assigned tasks.

  • Provides technical direction on data platform and Spearheads in the identification, development, testing and implementation of new technologies, processes and services to provide the most efficient solutions to accomplish goals.

  • Guides and ensures the quality of the products delivered by the contracted vendor services providing feedback to help monitor and improve the vendor’s performance.

  • Champion the data and data science emerging technology and communicates value/impact for supported functions.

  • Captures business and client big data platform related requirements and prepares a technology roadmap and ultimately implemented in a platform as a service model.

  • Lead coding and architecting of end-to-end applications on modern data processing technology stack (e.g. Hadoop, Cloud, Spark ecosystem technologies)

  • Creates the standards for platform, solution design, code, data for data solution products and governs the standards are being maintained.

  • Tests, integrates and maintains technology services, considering cross-functional business needs and Company goals.

  • Coordinates issue resolution with cross functional teams and vendors.

  • Builds IT Department services acumen to effectively leverage existing IT services to meet client needs.

  • Gains understanding of and supports the business processes of the assigned functions.

  • Interfaces comfortably with internal clients, co-workers and vendors building credibility and championing change.

  • Provides knowledge transfer and feedback to assist team and co-workers.

Job Requirements:

Education :

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer information systems, data science or related area required, or related business experience

Experience :

  • Strong knowledge of Data architecture and data science with at least 7+ years of experience working in data solutions environment and 4+ years in architecting data solution with experience in data science strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills including both the ability to address detailed technical communications as well as the ability to distill complete technical status to executive level

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, with the expectation of working as a motivated and cooperative team member.

  • Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS Big Data toolsets, CloudFormation, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to develop sizing & capacity planning for large scale big data platforms and to periodically evaluate and optimize performance and platform throughput

  • Expertise and experience with software development and related techniques and methodologies such Agile

  • Experience with development of analytics and data science-based solutions using open source tools and libraries is required.

  • Experience in building full pipeline including distributed Machine Learning models (e.g., training/test pipeline, offer eligibility, data layer, feature layer, etc.)

  • Proficient in Big Data Technologies (EMR, Hadoop, Hive, etc)

  • Proficient in PySpark, Python, SQL, Java/Scala, No SQL

  • Proficient in Airflow, Git, Jenkins, Spark, Databricks

  • Expertise and experience with software development and related techniques and methodologies such Agile

  • Experience with development of analytics and data science based solutions using open source tools and libraries is required

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies is preferred

  • Familiarity with building data pipelines, data modeling, architecture & governance concepts

  • Experience implementing ML models and building highly scalable and high availability systems

  • Experience building, launching and maintaining complex analytics pipelines in production

  • Strong development experience with Python, Java, Scala, and related Linux-based scripting tools
