This position is with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company—the second-largest U.S. tobacco company. The company's brands include Newport, Camel and Pall Mall.

Job Summary:

The R&D Training Analyst role provides training coordination and document/records management services to support Research & Development and Scientific &Regulatory Affairs. This role is the under the supervision of the R&D Research Information Center Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the company’s compliance training process by serving as the R&D Training Analyst including performing skill gap and training needs analysis; maintaining R&D site specific training roles, training curricula and employee training assignments; recording course completions; ensuring training records are complete and accurate; creating training reports for management; conducting biennial training plan reviews and participates in compliance training audits as needed.

  • Serves as a Reports Coordinator including receiving and processing reports, presentations, posters and publications via an electronic workflow application and maintaining those reports into records system.

  • Supports the company record management process as a Records Coordinator, including receiving and processing physical records, maintaining archival records and corresponding with the archival vendor.

  • Provides information and training for the electronic workflow application as needed.

  • Collaborates with R&DResearch Information Center Managerand other staff on projects/assignments.

Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and 1 year relevant experience orB.A./B.S. in Library and/or Information Science or B. A./B. S. in Science or Business


  • Experience in training coordination and document/records management preferred

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstration of interpersonal skills of dependability, reliability and credibility.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, cross functionally and independently.

  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), SharePoint, OpenText, SmartSolve and web-based applications.
