This position is with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company—the second-largest U.S. tobacco company. The company's brands include Newport, Camel and Pall Mall.
This position will be responsible for leading efforts to integrate data and processes across departments to support regulatory and business reporting needs. This position collaborates and interfaces between various business and technical teams to compile requirements and design solutions; providing technical leadership to the team; and continously gain a deeper understanding of relevant data and proesses to meet business needs. Proactively creates opportunities to add value to reporting workstreams. Will conduct all activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with consultants and project managers to lead projects for a regulatory reporting data repository, reporting, and associated processes
Lead projects related and ongoing data profiling, data assessment, remediation and governance
Applies advanced technical/professional knowledge and creativity to develop recommendations and influence others.
Provide expertise in defining and prioritizing critical data elements
Responsible for identification, development, and implementation of new technologies, processes, and data structures to support regulatory reporting needs.
Serve as a liaison between business and both internal and external technical support
Configuration and use of reporting tools and business warehouse technologies
Collaborate with the business to ensure adoption of new data quality processes
Collaborate with management to develop sub-functional strategy which aligns with overall corporate strategy
Degree in Business, Information Technology, Data Management / Data Analyticas or demonstrated experience combined with relevant certification(s).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data quality, data management, data architecture
Excellent time management, team collaboration and organizational skills.
Technical expertise in data quality, data profiling, data management practices
Ability to work with business owners and stakeholders to ensure successful completion of data quality initiatives
Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
Ability to conceive, plan and execute programs / projects aligned with company strategies
Ability to assess need for change, plan for change, and implement change as necessary
Excellent people and communication skills
Strong Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Professional Suite and data warehouse and reporting technologies
Experience in data governance, data quality and best practices.
Project Management skills, including prioritizing project workstreams and communications to ensure activities are aligned with project timeline.
Technical expertise in Business Objects, Informatica and OpenText suites.
Experience in a regulated industry
Regular attendance at work.
