Position Description:

A Scientist position is immediately available for highly motivated candidates with a background in managing biology/biomarker projects. The incumbent is expected to actively collaborate, plan and drive coordination and execution of different projects within the department. The chosen individual will have hands on experience in biological and clinical research, as well as managing vendor relationships. Prior industry experience in biology /clinical research in industry, would be required.

The successful candidate is expected to manage multiple projects in tobacco use-related research. The candidate will work effectively and independently with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, interface with CROs and manage outsourced projects, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position offers opportunities for exploring new research directions, developing collaborations, publishing research findings and ample professional growth.

The candidate will have a MS degree in biological sciences with experience in bench research in molecular biology and cell biology, understanding of good clinical practices, clinical research and regulatory science. Excellent communication skills, good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects are necessary.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Deliverables –

  • Manage and support the conduct of clinical and basic science research projects

  • Support the coordination of various activities within the department

  • Compliance - Ensure that all projects are conducted in compliance with applicable Company policies and applicable FDA and other government regulations/ guidelines.

  • Lead – Contribute and lead collaborative teams comprised of internal staff and external vendors.

  • Publishing - Contribute to the preparation and publication of scientific results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present, as appropriate.

Position Qualification:

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must have a MS degree in biological sciences with experience in bench research in molecular biology and cell biology, understanding of good clinical practices, clinical research and regulatory science.

  • Demonstrated expertise (2-4 years in industry setting) in managing and coordinating basic science and clinical research projects

  • Proven understanding of Good Clinical Practices, FDA and OECD guidelines

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and to develop additional skills as necessary
